Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names or locations entered in a search box are sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so we can respond. We keep that correspondence within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure traffic and use patterns. Analytics providers combine that data so we can see which material is useful and where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our content identifies official Chattooga County sources, including the sheriff, courts, GCIC, and Georgia Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal histories.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern any data submitted to them. Review the applicable provider policy before running a query because we do not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, the sheriff, Georgia agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside services. Once you leave our pages, the destination's privacy terms apply. Read them before providing personal data.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable industry security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information was submitted, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Georgia privacy and consumer-protection law may provide added rights. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§50-18-70 through 50-18-77, governs government records and does not convert this private site into a public agency. GCIC dissemination is separately governed by O.C.G.A. §§35-3-34 and 35-3-35. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
